I'm a technical trainer who writes the guide nobody asked for — because I've lived the frustration of starting a job with no guide. At ThedaCare, I authored two onboarding guides for inventory technicians without being assigned to; my manager forwarded the main guide up the chain to the Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Operations.
I train new hires, build the materials, and close the gaps between how work is supposed to get done and how it actually gets done.
A sanitized onboarding guide I wrote for hospital supply chain technicians — built from shadowing veterans and documenting the unwritten rules, from the "4,4,2,4" stocking pattern to the etiquette of borrowing supplies.
